Top 7 Shoes to Help You Jump Higher in Basketball
Jump Higher In Basketball
Sure, the great basketball players have awesome genetics, natural talent, all those many, many inches of height, and a freakish leg length ratio. You can’t buy any of those off the shelf (although you can compensate for some of them with training programs to jump higher in basketball, a good coach and plenty of dedication). But do you know what the all time greats DO have, that you can buy off the shelf? The shoes that help them jump so high while playing basketball! Here are ten of our personal favorites.
7: Nike Hyperdunks: These are said to be the lightest basketball shoe ever made, and also to be able to help you jump higher in basketball, but sharper, react quicker, and be more explosive.
6: Nike Air Force 1: There have been more Air Force Ones sold around the world than any other basketball shoe … and that certainly isn’t because they’re the cheapest. Air Force Ones were the first to use Air Technology in the sole, improving comfort as well as helping basketballers jump higher. You can choose from low, mid or high top, as well as a huge range of styles. Nelly even wrote a song about them!
5: Converse All Stars: They made the list because they used to have so much street cred .. but honestly, if you want to jump higher in basketball games, Reebok or Nike will be a much better friend!
4: Adidas KB8′s: Although Kobe Bryant no longer wears the shoes that were named after him (they came out when it was only his second year in the league), they hold a lot of nostalgia for many basketball fans.
3: Reebok’s The Question: Novel idea, creating basketball shoes with a name that can’t be used in plural! Certianly makes them stand out – but the fact that they help basketballers jump so much higher is the real winning ticket for these shoes. They had honeycomb bubbles, rather than air technology in the front and back, but were classic, comfy, and well-made for the time.
2: Air Jordan XI’s: These shoes came out after Jordan’s first retirement, when he came back to play with the Bulls. It wasn’t the patent leather wrapping (cool as it was) that helped Jordan win his fourth championship with them … it was the vertical technology.
1: Air Jordan I’s: They are old-school now, but changed the face of basketball and jumping higher as we know it. Insanely expensive, they really gave weight to the notorious craze of stealing sneakers, and were banned by the NBA. Michael Jordan had to pay a fine for each game he wore them … but he kept doing it anyway, and eventually the NBA gave in. Haven’t been beaten for innovation yet!
